Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
This Privacy Policy is provided by the developer of pockt ("we," "our," or "us"). pockt is built privacy-first. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect (almost nothing) and where your data lives (your device and your iCloud).
The transactions, categories, budgets, and accounts you add stay on your device. When iCloud sync is enabled, this data is stored in your personal iCloud account, controlled by Apple's privacy protections, not by us.
Apple Pay tracking works through an Apple Shortcut and a one-time automation you set up in the Shortcuts app. When you tap to pay, the shortcut sends a few pieces of information to pockt: the merchant name, the amount, and the currency. No card numbers, account details, or banking credentials are ever passed to pockt. All processing happens on your device.
When you log a transaction, a small amount of information is sent to our own backend to power AI features:
Our backend forwards this to a third-party AI provider for processing, then returns the result to the app. Nothing is stored on our servers, and the data sent contains no account, no identity, and no device information that could link it back to you.
pockt lets you upload a bank statement so transactions can be extracted and categorized automatically. When you upload a file, it's sent through our backend to a third-party AI provider, which reads the document, extracts the transactions, and returns them to the app. We do not open, read, inspect, or retain the contents of the file, and nothing from it is stored on our servers. Once extraction is complete, the file is discarded.
Please remove sensitive information before uploading. While our backend does not read or retain any file you submit, the document itself is passed to an AI provider for processing. As a general rule, it's never a good idea to share sensitive personal information with any AI service — before uploading, we recommend redacting anything that isn't a transaction: your full name, address, account numbers, or balances. Ideally, only the transaction rows (date, description, amount) should remain.
By using this feature you accept that you are solely responsible for the content of any file you upload. If you'd rather not send a document to an AI provider, you can add transactions manually instead.
pockt does not currently collect crash reports, usage analytics, or any in-app telemetry. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.
This marketing website (separate from the app itself) uses Vercel Analytics to understand page views in aggregate — how many people visit, and which pages. It runs without cookies and cannot identify you individually. It never sees anything inside the app.
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above and, where appropriate, note changes in the app.
